I bought this game for our Wii because my wife recalled on multiple occasions the pleasure of playing it on a coin-operated arcade machine. Now, my expectations weren't terribly high, despite well over a decade for technology to improve.

Game Play

WARNING: THIS SECTION CONTAINS SERIOUS SPOILERS!

In this game, your gun is a six-shooter that must be pointed downwards in order to be reloaded. Throughout the game, if you see a cow skull or spitoon, shoot those items to receive extra bullets.

At the beginning of the game, there is a target practice session where you attempt to shoot up to five beer bottles on a wooden fence. Afterwards, as you head into town, an old prospector comes up to you and asks you for your help. He informs you that Mad Dog and his gang have taken over the town, the mayor and his daughter have been taken hostage at Mad Dog's hideout and the sheriff is locked up in his own jail. A couple of outlaws then try to shoot the informant before he can tell you more, but if you shoot them before they kill the prospector, he will tell you where to find the jail keys. If the prospector dies, however, you will have to find out for yourself.

Next, you get to choose which destination you want to go to by shooting it; select either the corral, the bank, the saloon or the sheriff's office. Each time you go to one of those destinations, you must shoot the outlaws but not the townspeople. For every innocent by-stander that is hit, a life will be deducted for it.

The corral is perhaps the most difficult destination in town. When you get past the bank, a young boy will warn you about what to do if you get to Mad Dog's hideout. Somtimes he will warn you not to approach from the front, but sometimes he will warn you not to approach from the rear, and you will have to remember that.

When you get to the saloon, you will find One-Eyed Jack and a few others of Mad Dog's henchmen. They will glare at you and start shooting at you and one of them will even try to shoot the bartender. After shooting all of them, if the bartender is killed, a barmaid will give you the keys, but if you save the bartender from being shot, he will give you the keys and he will also warn you that Mad Dog wears a bullet-proof vest, so you will have to remember to shoot Mad Dog in the head instead of the chest.

When you go to the sheriff's office, be sure you have the keys. If you go there without the keys, you will not be able to free the sheriff and you will be ambushed by outlaws as you attempt to leave. If you have the keys you can free the sheriff and he will help you rid the town of the other outlaws, but will be fatally wounded. Before the sheriff dies, he will inform you that the map to the hideout is in the gold mine, but you must talk to the prospector first.

After you have successfully made it past all four destinations in town, you will have a choice to either go to the prospector, the mine or the hideout. When you go to the prospector, he will be tied up to a pile of dynamite and Mad Dog will lite the fuse with a cigar, you must shoot the fuse and save the prospector before the dynamite explodes. Next, the prospector will inform you that the mine is booby-trapped for claim jumpers and you must shoot the lantern and either the pitchfork, the griddle, the pick-axe, the gold mining pan or the 'Shaft #1' sign in order to enter the mine and get the map.

When you go to the mine, you will get another target practice round to shoot beer bottles thrown into the air. Next, you choose to go to the hideout and then you will see a post with two arrows on it leading in two different directions. You must shoot an arrow to choose a path, but be careful. If you choose the wrong one, you will be ambushed. If you choose the right one, however, you will be attacked by only one outlaw at a time instead of all at once.

When you make it to the hideout, you will have a choice to enter from the front or the rear. Here you must remember what the boy at the bank told you about approaching the hideout. When you are outside the hideout, shoot the cow skull on the chimney to shoot the stack off. Then, as the outlaws come out of the door, shoot them but cease fire when the mayor comes out. After the mayor has been rescued, go into the hideout. After you shoot another outlaw inside, you will find a note from Mad Dog telling you to meet him in town.

Between each of these sequences, you will sometimes be challenged to a showdown to see how fast you can draw. When you get back to town to save the mayor's daughter from Mad Dog, you will have to gun down a few more bandits before hand. When you meet Mad Dog at the final showdown, you must shoot him twice directly in the head; the first will stun him and the second will bring him down. Afterwards, the mayor, his daughter and the town will be saved and they'll thank you for it.

In all honesty, Mad Dog McCree should have been left back in the arcades. While the arcade game was pretty nice looking, featuring stunning FMV (especially considering that in time period it came out in, FMV was a very new technology) and fast and furious arcade shooting, this PC version is the pits. For one thing, the FMV is very, very grainy. In no ways does it even come close to matching the arcade version's crisp and clear visuals.

In fact, the PC version is so bad looking that it's often difficult to see the bandits your trying to shoot. It's bad even for a 1993 game. So the visuals aren't that hot, but what about the rest of the game? Is it fast and fun like the arcade game? No, for one simple reason: the mouse.

For Imperium Galactica II - Alliances on the PC, GameFAQs has 4 FAQs (game guides and walkthroughs). Accumulating money in Imperium Galactica 2 was always somewhat a slow process. Unfortunately, the game protects/hides the money amount displayed on screen and one can't directly edit its value via tools such as Cheat Engine. Got a Imperium Galactica II walkthrough, FAQ or Guide? Use the submission form, or email them as attachments to faqs@neoseeker.com.FAQs/Guides are posted in their original, unaltered form. I would really like a manual, too. I wasnt able to find a manual anywhere on the internet. There is a help-section in the game, with all information about game mechanisms, and at the research screen, you can find a description to all your start-buildings and techs. Imperium galactica 2 manual. Imperium Galactica 2 Wiki:Manual of Style This page is a suggested method of styling your wiki - you may wish to edit it to suit your wiki's tastes. You may also wish to add links to various articles that best show off your wiki's design. This MoS was based off WoWWiki's Manual of Style.

You see, in the arcade version, you got to use a handy-dandy gun to shoot the screen with. Well, on the PC version, you get to use your mouse and a cursor to point and click the bad guys. Where's the fun in this? Sure the mouse control is fine, but this game needs a light-gun to be fully realized. But the thing that makes this game beyond worthless is that it's a direct port of the arcade game. There's no new scenes, no new gunfights, nothing. It's exactly the same.

To those of you who are wondering why this is a bad thing, let me explain. See, arcade shooters of this type are notoriously short. They're arcade games, they need to be short.

After all, who want's to waste their tokens or quarters playing some long, involved epic game? They've got to be short so that people have a chance to beat them. But you see, Mad Dog McCree is probably the shortest arcade shooter of all time. If you know what you're doing, you can easily finish this game in about 15 minutes. And even if you don't know what you're doing, you'll beat it within an hour or two.

Some new scenes would have been nice, but it was just not meant to be.So there you have it. Mad Dog McCree is painfully short with terrible FMV and almost no sense of fun. The acting isn't even that great and the payoff for finishing the game is horrible. I'm sure any fan of the arcade game looking for a good, solid PC conversion will be extremely disappointed.Graphics: Mad Dog McCree is downright ugly thanks to the annoyingly grainy FMV. It's often difficult to tell who or what you're shooting at.or even SEE who or what you're shooting at.Sound: The sound is okay though there isn't much in this department. The guns sound like guns, and that's about it.

There are few uninspired western tunes that play at certain times, but it doesn't really detract from the game.Enjoyment: Looking at ugly, grainy FMV, point and clicking with my mouse to shoot varmints and finishing the game well under a half hour to be rewarded with a terrible ending isn't my idea of fun or enjoyment.Replay Value: Once you finish it, you've finished it for good. There's no reason to play it again.Mag Dog McCree and his gang have kidnapped the Mayor and his daughter, and its up to you to rescue them.

You must blast through bars and bank robberies to take the gang out and save everything you regard as good and true. Where the game differs from other Operation Wolf-influenced shoot-'em-ups is in the use of live video, with real people appearing on the screen before you shoot them down. You have unlimited continues with which to reach the end, so the actors will have their screen deaths seen by as many people as they would had they starred in a film. The PlayStation 3 version has re-mastered full-motion footage (720p), a new scoring system with leaderboards, and cooperative gameplay for up to four players. The Move peripheral is supported as a controller.
